This year the weather stayed dry for us, although seasonally cold – and just before 11am a group of Veterans, Royal British Legion members, the Military and the Police service as well as members of the public and of course members of the FOFC volunteers group gathered to commemorate those who have died in service of their country during WW1 and 2. At the appropriate time in the service a representative from each group laid a poppy wreath.
There are 45 Commonwealth graves and 3 recipients of the VC. in the old Folkestone cemetery and a small poppy tribute was laid before each of these graves by the volunteer group, as well as a small wooden cross provided by the British Legion.
This year a poppy wreath from the FOFC group and the Royal British Legion also placed a poppy wreath at the Cross of Service.
